WBGH-CA is a low-powered, Class-A affiliate of the NBC network, covering the Binghamton area. The station is owned by Clear Channel Communications, and operated by WIVT.
[edit] History
WBGH-CA signed on in 1995 on VHF channel 8, after the market's long time NBC affiliate WICZ became a Fox affiliate, being related to "The Big Switch of 1994-1997". In 1998, it moved to UHF channel 20 to make way for WICZ's digital signal on channel 8.
On November 16, 2006, Clear Channel announced its intention to sell off all of its television stations, including WBGH-CA, after the company was bought out by a private equity firm.
