Wazzal is a freeware, top-down, space privateering game with some elements of arcade-style combat. The player is the captain of a pirate ship, amassing money to pay for his rescue from the imminent destruction of Sol. The entire game takes place in our own future, in the Sol system. There are two major components of gameplay. Normally, the player explores the solar system with one ship, can meet with hostile or friendly ships, or land on one of the planets, moons, or asteroid bases to trade (although trade is limited to 3 types of goods). In combat with other ships, or in invasions of bases, the view zooms in to an arena set in space, with all of the player's ships versus the enemy's ships. Enemy ships can be disabled and boarded. If successful, the player can add the boarded ship to their fleet.

Wazzal is currently at version 1.2. Ville Mönkkönen, the sole developer of the game, has stated no more interest in updating Wazzal unless major bugs are discovered.
