Wayne Messmer

Wayne Messmer is the public address announcer for the Chicago Cubs. He also sings the Star Spangled Banner before many Cubs games, as well as the Chicago Wolves. For many years, he also sang for the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Sting. His most famous rendition was before the 1991 NHL All-Star Game. In April of 1994, Messmer was shot in the throat by a teen.
