Wayne Cao

Wayne Cao (Born Nguyễn Cao Cảo, known as "Cao-boy") is an Albertan politician representing the electoral division of Calgary Fort in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta since 1997. Cao is a member of the Progressive Conservative party.

Born in South Vietnam, Cao has lived in Calgary since 1976. He was first elected to the legislature in the 1997 Alberta general election, and was re-elected in 2001 and 2004.

Cao is perhaps best known for introducing the Alberta Official Song Act in the legislature during his second term. The legislation resulted in the province adopting an official song in time for the centennial celebrations in 2005, called Alberta.
