[edit] Re: Vandalism

bmicomp, thank you very much for the links to those Wiki explanation-pages and also sorry for a quite delayed response. Also, I must emphasize that I agree with you about the edit wars - one could simply edit the article (and end the respective edit war) in a manner that it would offer two explanations, two points of view.

[edit] Vandalism

In response to your question on the Wikipedia_talk:Vandalism_in_progress talk page:

It depends on the circumstances. Reading the following may answer your question: Resolving disputes, Requests for arbitration, Three-revert rule. I have found in some edit wars, where there are conflicting points of view, simply rewording the conflicting part in order to reach a middle ground may be successful.
For example
  • Joe contends A
  • Bill contends B
Rewriting the section to state that "some people believe A, while others believe B" or something along those lines may help resolve the dispute.

[edit] Re: Welcome

Thanks Ragib for a friendly welcoming message and also thanks for inviting me to your discussion page. I will just repeat once more what I already wrote on your talk-page: Talk.

  • In my opinion, Wikipedia is definitely a great community of "spare-time contributors" to the general Common good.

best regards

[edit] Apologies

Hi there! You'll probably have received an e-mail regarding a new password for your Wikipedia account... Well, it's been my fault. I'm user Wayfarer on the spanish Wikipedia, so when I tried to login here I tried the same username and password. After several attempts, I pressed the "Send me a new password" button thinking that I had forgotten the password... and a minute after that I noticed my mistake.

So if you haver received the Change Password Request mail, don't think that a hacker has been trying to steal your account... but just a forgetful spaniard! ;-)

Kind regards, -- Wayfarer.es 14:59, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
