Waxworks (original title: Das Wachsfigurenkabinett) is an episodic 1924 fantasy/horror film directed by Paul Leni.

[edit] Plot Overview

The owner of a Wax Museum desires a backstory for his wax models of Harun al Raschid, Ivan the Terrible, and Jack the Ripper in order to draw an audience. The first is an arabian knights tale for Harun al Raschid, the second story is about Tzar Ivan the Terrible who likes watching people die together with his court-chemist. While writing the third story it seems that the Jack the Ripper figure may not be a wax piece as it once seemed.
