Wattie's

Wattie's or Heinz Wattie's is a New Zealand-based food producer of frozen and packaged fruit, vegetables, sauces, baby food, cooking sauces, dressings and pet foods.
Founded in 1934, the company operated in New Zealand under the brand name Wattie's until it was bought by American-based H.J. Heinz Company in 1993. The company employs over 600 people, and up to nearly 1,600 "seasonal" staff each year. The company produces various products of the international brands of H.J. Heinz Company. The company has three production centres in New Zealand. Two are based in Hastings, where the company was founded, and over 1,200 product lines are produced there.
In the South Island, the company has a production plant in Christchurch. The plant in Christchurch focuses on producing frozen and dry vegetables.
