Waterways Experiment Station

The Waterways Experiment Station or WES is a United States government funded military base located at Vicksburg, Mississippi. The base was set up after the 1927 flood disaster of the Mississippi River. The base is staffed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. With half a billion dollars of funding, their job is to research methods of flood control and prevention, along with other waterways technology and engineering.
