In 1989 Watchtower released a second album, Control and Resistance, with some lineup changes.
While Watchtower never received much popular fame, they have been cited as influences by heavy metal bands, and popular progressive bands such as Dream Theater.
Various members have pursued other projects, including Ron Jarzombek's solo project Spastic Ink and Doug and Rick's venture called Retarted Elf.
