Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction is the state level education agency. They implement state laws, including the 1993 education reform act which mandated the controversial WASL standards based assessment.

The current Superintendent is Terry Bergeson who has promised that all students will get a world-class diploma, but is helping struggling students by helping to pass the law that that any senior who does not meet these standards by 2008 will not get any diploma.
