Washington High School is the local public high school in Washington, Iowa. It is a member of the Washington Communiity School[[1]] district. The building was built in 1912 and is still currently used. Washington High School has graduated well over 1000 students in its history.

Washington High School[[2]] prides itself on being strong not only in Iowa Test of Educational Developemnt score improvement and strong ACT scores but many other ways as well. It has a diverse amount co-curricular activties that range from school organized sports to Theatrical performances. WHS takes pride in its well-qualified faculty and staff, many of whom have specialized training in their areas. With a 1:10 teacher to student ratio, WHS also takes pride in its small class size.
