Washing the Dog
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Washing the Dog was an episode of the MTV animated series Beavis and Butt-Head. It was featured in the first volume of the DVD boxset Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection.
[edit] Plot
While watching a TV show called "The Rich and the Horny", Beavis and Butt-Head come up with the idea of offering to do chores for someone who will die soon, with the intent of trying to get into their will. The two set off to Tom Anderson's house to inquire if he may die soon. When he gives an answer that appears to be in the affirmative, the two offer to do some chores for him. He asks them to wash his pet poodle, who has "been rolling around in her own sick". The odor of the dog disgusts the two, but they resolve to wash the dog regardless.
Beavis and Butt-Head take the dog to a laundromat, apparently intent on using the machines for a quick solution. Unwilling to pay a dollar to use the machine, they instead volunteer to handle an old woman's laundry while she goes to do some shopping to gain access to a machine. Their treatment is effective, but the dog is extremely dazed from the experience. As Butt-Head watches the wobbly dog and notices "She's stoned!" they decide to try it out themselves, and take a ride in the active washing machine (or possibly a dryer, as they do not emerge soaked). When they emerge from the machine, Beavis vomits on the dog, effectively cancelling out any good the duo might have done.
Regardless, they return the dog to Mr. Anderson, who notes that she smells worse than before. Extremely unimpressed and annoyed by Butt-Head's attitude, he tells them to leave his house. Butt-Head then asks if he'll put the two in his will, at which point Anderson slams his door on them.
[edit] Trivia
- This episode features Beavis and Butt-Head singing, "Washin' the dog! Washin' the dog!" to the tune of "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest.
- This episode was banned on TV, because of complaints from parents that the episode contains scenes of the dog being in the washer and getting stoned (although land animals can drown if they are underwater too long) and Beavis and Butt-Head themselves being inside the washer.
