WASH is a Clear Channel Communications radio station located at 97.1 FM in Washington, D.C.. Known on-air as "Wash-FM", the station has a soft rock format.
WASH has been a soft adult contemporary station in one form or another since the 70s. For a few years in the early 80's , the station attempted to do a Top 40/ CHR format which had no success and the station later returned to their original Soft A/C format.
Wash-FM plays Christmas music from the last week of November through the end of December, and calls itself "Washington's Home for the Holidays."
The WASH-FM jingles were produced by TM Century, and now they offer other radio stations to use the jingles' beds and notes so it can be branded from the WASH jingles. KVIL-FM and WRAJ Internet Radio's jingles were branded from the WASH jingles.
