I asked the following question at the Wikipedia:Reference desk:
Can someone explain what it means for an actor or director to have points for a project? I know that it factors in to how much many they can make, but I'd like to know the specifics.

Points are usually held by major producers, directors, and lead actors (occasionally actresses, although I fear they have been neglected too often in the past). Obviously, points are of widely variable value -- whoever had points for Waterworld was sorely diappointed, whereas one presumes it would have been wise for Elijah Wood to forgo his entire salary for the LOTR in exchange for a single point on the profits. My question: Hi, I'm creating a logo for my Taekwondo club, and I was wondering if there was any specific configuration that I should use for arranging the eight I Ching trigrams. Currently, I have them corresponding to the 4 trigrams in the corners of the South Korean flag plus the other four trigrams in the north, south, east, and west. So, starting from top left corner and proceeding clockwise: ☰ keon, ☴ seon, ☵ gam, ☳ jin, ☶ gan, ☷ gon, ☲ ri, ☱ tae. For comparison. imagine this image rotated such that 'heaven' is where 'lake' is.
- (My knowledge of I Ching is minimal, so this suggestion is probably inappropriate.) Aesthetically, how about a Gray code arrangement, like ☰ ☴ ☶ ☲ ☳ ☷ ☵ ☱ ? At each step, precisely one line changes, and the sequence is cyclic. I suppose this does lose the property that opposite symbols have related meanings (heaven/earth, fire/water, etc.). --AlexG 14:55, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Creating Articles w/ Categories
Good work creating new articles. When you create things, it helps tremendously to assign them to an accurate category (see WP:CG for info). If you're really not sure about categories, at least assign your new articles a stub category (see WP:SC for info). By assigning a category, you help make sure your new articles don't get lost as 'orphans' that are not associated with related topics. Feco

- While it's obvious that the other editors are taking a rather absurd amount of interest in my personal life, I don't really think an RfC is necessary *yet*. I think that we should maybe wait a little bit longer, see if the discussion moves back to the subject matter in the article, and then decide. At least the personal attacks seem to be dying down, and we're starting to have good, civil discussion (so far). I get the impression that the editor who was going nuts with the personal attacks hasn't been posting there since a couple of days ago; of course, it's hard to tell with anons, due to ISPs like AOL that change your IP address every other minute. (Or maybe that user saw my listing of the article at Third Opinion and Vandalism in Progress). So let's wait and see, figure out if it's going to resolve itself, and if things stay heated over there, ask for some other users to provide their opinion. --Idont Havaname 19:56, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC00918-220 px.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
