The Warship Preservation Trust is based in Birkenhead, England and hosts Europe's largest collection of preserved warships. The fleet consists of the ships HMS Plymouth and the submarine HMS Onyx from the Falklands War; the minehunter HMS Bronington; the German U-Boat U-534 and LCT 7074, the last surviving landing craft tank that took part in D-Day.

As from 5 February 2006, the museum will close due to local redevelopment. The future of the collection is uncertain, however Plymouth City Council have expressed an interest in HMS Plymouth.

In May 2006 HMS Onyx was sold to the Barrow-in-Furness businessman Joe Mullen, for a reported £100,000 as a 'gift to the people of Barrow'. It is set to form the centrepiece of a new heritage museum in Cumbria, and will leave Birkenhead to arrive in its new home in mid June.
