Warren is a city in Bradley County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 6,442 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Bradley CountyGR6.

Warren is located at 33°36′37″N, 92°4′11″W (33.610245, -92.069804)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 17.8 km² (6.9 mi²). 17.8 km² (6.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (0.29%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 6,442 people, 2,569 households, and 1,692 families residing in the city. The population density was 362.0/km² (938.0/mi²). There were 2,880 housing units at an average density of 161.9/km² (419.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 54.46% White, 40.79% Black or African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 3.82% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 5.08% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 2,569 households out of which 29.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.6% were married couples living together, 17.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.96.

In the city the population was spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 20.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 84.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.6 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $22,162, and the median income for a family was $27,618. Males had a median income of $27,778 versus $17,247 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,453. About 24.3% of families and 28.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 37.4% of those under age 18 and 23.9% of those age 65 or over.

  • The Warren Chamber of Commerce hosts one of Arkansas's longest-running annual community festivals, the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival, which celebrates the South Arkansas vine-ripe pink tomato — Arkansas' state fruit and vegetable.
