Warid Telecom International is an Abu Dhabi based mobile telecommunication firm providing telephony services in Pakistan and launching soon in Bangladesh and some other countries.

Warid Telecom is backed by The Abu Dhabi Group, one of the largest groups in the Middle East. The group is led by HH Shaikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan who is also Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research United Arab Emirates. Warid Telecom currently providing GSM cellular services in Pakistan and Bangladesh with headquarters located at Abu Dhabi UAE. Warid Telecom started its operation in May 2005 from Pakistan.

In Pakistan Warid Telecom use uses the codes 0321 and 0322 preceded with the code number of Pakistan 0092
Warid Telecom purchased a licence of Telecom Operator in 2004 from Government of Pakistan and launched the service covering 28 cities of Pakistan with a total population of around 32 million people. In July 2006 and increasing its coverage 120 cities town highways.
Warid Telecom also holds licences to operate long distance international (LDI) and wireless local loop (WLL) businesses in Pakistan. Currently Warid Telecom has more than 7 million customers in Pakistan.

Warid is offering boht pre-paid and post-paid connectivity in flexible tarrif, post paid connection is called Zahi ( Zaa-hee) means leader, royalty and pre-paid is called Zem-Pre Paid. Warid is provide different value added services, GPRS and 64K SIM to its Zahi users.

In Bangladesh Warid Telecom will start operations in early 2007 and use the code 016 preceded by country code of Bangladesh 88.

Warid Telecom will also start its operation in Congo in July 2007, Warid in Congo. It will be setting up businesses for mobile, Wi-Max and fiber optics in Congo Brazzaville. The main focus would be in the two main cities; Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire where majority of the population resides. In Congo Warid Telecom will introduce, for the first time, effective competition in the telecommunications sector.
After Congo Warid Telecom International next plan is to start its service in Uganda.
