Wardle is a village in north-west England located in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale. The village contains a church (the original church is being converted to apartments) a number of pubs, local shops, St. James' Primary School and Wardle High School which is very well known locally for its brass bands.

The area used to fall in the ancient parish of Hundersfield.

In 1957 the village became the centre of a supposed UFO sighting, with controversy generated over the official explanation, even raising interest from the local MP.
