Warden Ackerman

Warden Ackerman is a minor character from the television series Red Dwarf. He is played by Graham McTavish.

Warden Ackerman is a stereotypically sadistic warden, enjoying his power over the inmates in Floor 13 (Red Dwarf's brig). He has a glass eye, which at one point is stolen from him. Prone to overreaction, he is a victim of pranks from the inmates on more than one occasion. Lister and Rimmer at one time inserted truth serum into his aspirin inhaler. This resulted in him rushing saying he had been late for having "jiggy-jiggy" with the science officer's wife and didn't have enough time to change out of his Batman outfit (Lister had asked if he has considered being Tarzan because costume change would be much quicker). Warden Ackerman and a team of guards played a game of basketball against Lister, Kryten, Cat, Rimmer, and Kochanski. The guards seem to have been winning at the first half of the game but Lister had smuggled a virility enhancement drug into their half-time drinks which made them unable to even lift their arms, therefore Warden Ackerman and his team lost the basketball game.
