Talk:Warrington Borough Transport

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Can you please not delete the route table without either A)thinking about the effort put in or B)if it isn't any trouble please contact me with reasoning for the removal taMedscin 20:24, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

I think some of the destinations shown on front may need amending, specifically:

 • 3 Manchester Rd, Woolston, Martinscroft
 • 6/6A Thelwall, Statham, Lymm - same as for short 37A working, or just plain blank Lymm, not sure what is displayed for short 6 workings to Statham
 • 14 Whittle Brook, Meeting Ln, Sankey Circular$
 • 15 Whittle Brook, Sankey Stn, Sankey Circular$
 • 16A has typo - should be Troutbeck Av$$-okay thanks, ill correct that ASAP
 • 20 Winwick Rd, Longford, Orford
 • 20A Gen Hospital, Longford, Orford
 • 21 Orford Ln, Poplars Ave$$, Longford
 • 25/26/27 don't think the blinds are capable of via points anymore-True for 26/7 as these are run by Low floor LED able buses, but if the 25 is run on 2xx number buses, the vias are availiable, and some (probably old school (soory for the slang)) drivers still use it, but blank Gorse Covert is also availiable.
 • 30 Liverpool Rd, Meeting Ln, Penketh Circ
 • 31-33 Liverpool Rd, Penketh Ln Ends, Penketh Circ
 • 47 also has blinds for short journeys to Lymm, High Legh, Knutsford and Lymm, Knutsford, Lower Peover
 • 48 Latchford, Stockton Heath, Dudlows Green
 • 234 generally uses blinds for Halebarns with via points-what are the Vias?

List also seems to be missing 37/37A/38 Sunday journeys-Vias?

$ Not sure if "Circular" is abbreviated to "Circ" or not

$$ Abbreviation tends to be "Av" on roller blinds and "Ave" on LED blinds

[edit] Evening frequency

I have reverted the evening frequency duration back to the more generic post 1800hrs because by putting 0004hrs in, the implication is that services run on a regular basis up until this time. In fact, the last bus from the town centre leaves at 2315hrs or so. Best to be vague and leave the interested reader to check the proper timetable. Divy 12:18, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

OKay fair enough. Last actual route ex an outer terminus is the 23:27 27 route to Wilderspool. As you say, last service ex the town centre is indeed 23:15. DannyM 20:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Service Changes

Just a note that there are some major changes occurring to WBT's routes, the notices are going up on the buses at the moment (and there mostly rmvls of routes), so there may be a bit of alteration to the entries of the tables. Just a warning, DannyM 20:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Rightio. I do wonder whether the best approach is to wait until the changes actually take place before updating the table, as we currently have a table that isn't valid until two weeks into the future! Divy 08:30, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Service 5

Just to let you know that if I forget to do so, the service 5 needs updating next weekend (or the weekend after) so that it reads:

Warrington Interchange - Wilderspool Causeway - Stockton Heath - Grappenhall - Thelwall - Lymm - Warburton - Dunham Town - Altrincham Interchange

i.e. the route is been expanded, but I feel two weeks in advance it too far ahead. Thanks DannyM 16:14, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image

It is requested that a photograph or photographs be included in this article to improve its quality.

Think its obvious what is needed here, and image of a Warrington borough bus (prefrebly blinded to Warrington Bus Station) DannyM 21:04, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fearnhead vs. Blackbrook

Just to let you know that Blackbrook is a housing estate in Fearnhead, the only bus stops serving the estate are on the main road (classed as Fearnhead), unlike some other estates in the town, which have bus stops within the estate (Cobbs for example). DannyM 17:37, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia is not a timetable

Some of the more intricate timetable details that have been added of late are sailing close to the wind with regards to the above rule. I think the route tables should only display a rough route summary, linking in to other Wikipedia articles where appropriate [so trying to avoid street names wherever possible in preference to districts], plus a rough summary of frequency for Mon-Sat daytime, Mon-Sat evening and Sunday. I don't see any further details as being necessary, including some of the more spurious termini details and details of one-off short workings at the end of the day etc. I'd like to clean up the table and leave it clearer - timetables should always to be consulted before travel, and warning is given to this effect. Any thoughts? Divy 09:25, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
