[edit] Mario Bros.

Andrevan, I think you're going too far in trying to keep the old content while keeping it NPOV. A phrase like "Warp pipes arguably appeared..." sounds like we're straining to keep NPOV, and that's not good. I don't think whether or not the pipes in Mario Bros. were warp pipes was ever a (seriously) hotly debated topic among fans! I think it was better the way I had it last, but I'll compromise by noting the connection to warp pipes in the later games. Let the reader decide if they're proper warp pipes or not; they'll decide that for themselves anyway. - furrykef (Talk at me) 19:06, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Ok, how you have it now is fine. Andre (talk) 19:16, Feb 5, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Were all pipes warp pipes?

By the way, were all the pipes in the SMB games warp pipes? I only used the term "warp pipe" when the pipe appeared in a warp zone. Other pipes were simply "pipes". The idea being that a warp pipe whisks you away to a faraway land, whereas the pipes dispersed throughout the levels in the game usually just act as a passageway between connected areas, with no "magic" involved. - furrykef (Talk at me) 19:14, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

They are all warp pipes, according to instruction booklets and stuff. But, only some of them were active. Andre (talk) 19:16, Feb 5, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Anyone remember the Nintendo Power insert?

I remembered there whas a special section at one point where it talked about the physical properties of warp pipes and the effects. However, I no longer have that issue. It was sometime between 1998-2002, but would defineitly give the article a boost!

[edit] SMW or SMB3?

"Super Mario World introduced the different colored (non-green) warp pipes."

Now I have the NES version of SMB3 and in some places, I clearly see different colored pipes. So Super Mario World was not the first one to introduce them. --Plainnym 14:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
