Wapsie Valley supports a wide variety of athletic programs. Over the past couple of years, they have had great teams. Cross Country boys have won the 1A State titles in 2000, 2004, 2005. Basketball was runner up state championship in 2003, Girls basketball to the 1A state playoffs in 2006, Girls golf featured one participant in 2006 competiton, Football state champs in 1986, 1987, and 1997.

- Marty McKowen- Boys Basketball- Went over the 400 win mark in 2005; now 407-118 in 23 years. State runner up in 2003 to 2A state champion Sioux Center.
- Steve Phelan- Boys Cross Country- State 1A titles in 2000 and 2004, state quilifiers from 1999-2001, 2003-2004
- Jerry Southmayd- Football- State 2A titles in 86, 87, and 1A title in 97, playoffs in 18 years (28-15), record of 241-83, enshrined into the Iowa Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 1990, and Des Moines Register coach of the year in 1997.
- Troy Matthaidess- Cross Country- State 1A title in 2005, 3rd place in 2006.
- Chris Davis- Wrestling- Recorded over 300 dual meet wins prior to the 05- 06 season (314-173-9)
- Jolissa Ohrt- Volleyball- State 1A title in 2006 over Holy Trinity
