Wang Qishan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wang Qishan (b. July, 1948) is the mayor of Beijing (China). He first took over from Meng Xuenong when SARS struck Beijing in spring 2003 and was promoted to an official mayor in early 2004. He is known to be frank and responsible. In a recent City Management Radio programme, listeners were astonished to hear the mayor apologise, leaving the citizens a very favourable image of a mayor who took his duties seriously.
