Wandlitz is a municipality in the district of Barnim, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated 25 km north of Berlin, and 15 km east of Oranienburg. Wandlitz was home to the elites of the former East German socialist regime who lived removed from the general population in the "Waldsiedlung" compound. East Germany's infamous dictator Erich Honecker had a property in the "Waldsiedlung" compound.
