Walton Hall and Gardens

Walton Hall and Gardens is located south west of Warrington, Cheshire, England just off the A56 and is owned and operated by Warrington Borough Council. It is the borough's main park and provides leisure facilities for people from Warrington, Runcorn and the villages north of Northwich. It is open from 8.00am to dusk.

Walton Lee Hall was owned by the Crossfield family. They were soap makers based in Warrington. The company and factory exists today as part of Unilever. The Crossfield family were Liberal and Quakers.
In 1812 the Crosfield family moved away and another family of Warrington – the brewers Greenalls – bought the site and as Tories and Church of England they rebuilt Walton Lee Hall as Walton Hall.
In 1941, Warrington Corporation purchased the site to with a majority of the land becoming Walton Golf Club. The hall and the rest of the site was opened to the public in 1945.
