Waltham on the Wolds

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Waltham on the Wolds is a village and civil parish in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, about five miles north-east of Melton Mowbray on the A607. The parish has a population of about 900, and is the site of the Waltham transmitting station, which serves most of the East Midlands.

Waltham-on-the-Wolds is also known for its connection with Masterfoods UK, and the much-advertised Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition.

Apart from the village proper, the parish also includes the village of Thorpe Arnold, which is just to the north-east of Melton.
