Walter Russell Hall (1831-1911), man of business.

Founder partner of the Mount Morgan Gold Mining Company, Mount Morgan, Queensland.

From 1881 Hall was a major investor and administrator of the Australian stagecoach line Cobb and Co.

Hall's widow, Eliza Rowden Kirk, founded the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research using funds earned from Hall's business interests.
