Walter P Carter Center

The Walter P. Carter Center is 51-bed acute care psychiatric hospital that is located at 630 W. Fayette Street in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. A public hospital that was founded in 1977, the facility specializes in providing care and treatment to those uninsured Maryland citizens who are suffering from acute psychiatric illnesses. The Carter Center is owned and operated by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It is fully accredited by JCAHO.
