Walter Dewitte

Walter Dewitte is a Belgian scientist who was born in Brasschaat, Flanders.
Dewitte confirmed that the G1 checkpoint in plants is the determinant switch for cell division using the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana. He carried out this work at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom under the guidance of Professor Jim Murray, the great grandson of the Oxford English Dictionary's principle editor.
