Walnut Square Mall is a one-story shopping mall located in Dalton, Georgia. The mall opened on July 23, 1980, when the mall opened, its anchors were Sears, Loveman's, and Belk. JC Penney later moved from their location in downtown to the mall on the east end in 1981. In 1986, Proffitt's aquired Loveman's. Goody's Family Clothing was later added on the northwest side of the mall in 1990. The nine screen Carmike Cinemas moved into the mall in 1993 from their former location one block away. In July 2006, Belk aquired Proffitt's, and the former location became Belk Home and Kids. The mall was built by CBL and Associates, and is owned and developed by them too.
