Wall of Weird
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The wall of weird was a collage of newspaper and magazine articles Chloe Sullivan of the TV series Smallville maintained, as a result of her love for journalism.
The wall featured stories of the weird things that happened in Smallville, following the meteor shower that came with the arrival of Clark Kent. Her wall was created from scrapbook, in a dark room where the Torch used to be, but quickly grew as people who were effected by Kryptonite began to appear.
She was convinced that the wall of weird supported her opinion that Smallville is a center for the weird, and that the meteor shower had something to do with it. She used the wall in her quest for the truth, and used the data collected from its stories to theorize on the effects of meteor rocks on people.
Chloe intitially kept the wall in a secure room behind the Torch office. She did not reveal it to Clark until the Pilot. Clark immediately spotted the Time Magazine cover of a young Lana Lang grieving the loss of her parents in the aftermath of the 1989 meteor shower. Clark came to the conclusion that he was responsible for the meteor shower as soon as he saw it. In that sense, the Wall has played a pivotal role in the show from the beginnng.
During the events of Gone, Clark demanded that Lex tell him where the supposedly "dead" Chloe was hiding. When he finally reached her safehouse, he found an open laptop and a newly reconstructed Wall of Weird on the wall. This meant that Chloe must have lived there for some time and had only left a minute ago. The second WoW was the first proof of Chloe's survival in over three months.
At the end of season four, Chloe took her beloved wall of weird down, closing the Torch office before moving on to college. A new wall of weird sits hanging on a bulletin board in her dorm.
