Walking Project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Walking Project is an international cultural exchange project about walking in Detroit, Michigan, USA and Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

In South Africa, troupe members from the Walk & Squawk Performance Project and Detroit artists taught a month-long residency that culminated in performances and an art exhibit at the Hexagon Theatre (KwaZulu-Natal) during July 2005. The cultural exchange began in 2003, and the project is scheduled through 2006. South African artists Morwenna Bosch, Arifani Moyo and Omri Nene collaborated with Erika Block, Hilary Ramsden and Blair of the United States to produce the shows at the Hexagon Theatre.
