Walk-in-Selection - WIS is a Housing and Development Board system that offers a convenient and efficient system that enables eligible flat buyers, particularly those in urgent need of accommodation, to book their choice apartment.

Since January 2002, HDB announced on that it would conduct a one-off selection exercise to invite all the existing applicants in the queue under its Registration for Flat (RFS) System to select a flat in the non-mature estates such as Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong, Punggol, Sengkang, Sembawang, Woodlands and Yishun towns.

Beginning from April 2002, HDB will be offering 3-room & bigger flats in non-mature & some mature estates for sale on a town basis through a Walk In Selection (WIS) process. The units will now be offered for sale progressively in batches to clear the backlog of 30,000 HDB units through the WIS process to the general public.

They can simply walk in, apply, select and book on-the-spot. Usually HDB will announce the details of the flats offered under the WIS for that month and the towns where they are located. The bookings will be held on the next working day on a first-come-first-served basis. As most of the units are completed, flat buyers can look forward to collecting their keys within 4 months.

• • Jun 2006 - WIS Exercise in Jurong East, Jurong West
    • Sale Allocation - 5-room (422 units) and Executive (475 units) flats for sale.
    • The flats are located in Jurong East (25 units) and Jurong West (872 units).

• • Mar 2006 - WIS Exercise in Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang
    • Sale Allocation - 321 units of 4-room (30 units), 5-room (105 units) and Executive (186 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in Bukit Batok (24 units), Bukit Panjang (197 units) and Choa Chu Kang (100 units).

• • Jan 2006 - WIS Exercise in Sembawang, Woodlands, Yishun
    • Sale Allocation - 406 units of 4-room (179 units), 5-room (24 units) and Executive (203 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in Sembawang (186 units), Woodlands (147 units) and Yishun (73 units).

    • Sale Allocation - 770 units of 3-room (29 units), 4-room (233 units), 5-room (508 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in various established towns such as Bukit Merah, Geylang, Queenstown, Kallang/Whampoa, AMK etc.

• • Oct 2005 - WIS Exercise in Hougang, Punggol, Sengkang
    • Sale Allocation - 2,532 units of 4-room (583 units), 5-room (979 units) and Executive (970 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in Hougang (113 units), Punggol (624 units) and Sengkang (1,795 units).

• • Aug 2005 - Balloting Exercise in Established Towns
    • Sale Allocation - 1,775 units of Studio Apartments (187 units), 3-room (125 units), 4-room (1,151 units) and 5-room (312 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in various established towns such as Bukit Merah, Geylang, Queenstown, Kallang/Whampoa, AMK etc.
    • They were built to rehouse families under the SERS and the surplus flats are now available for sale to public applicants.

• • Jul 2005 - WIS Exercise in Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang
    • Sale Allocation - 531 units of 4-room (48 units), 5-room (225 units) and Executive (258 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in Bukit Batok (62 units), Bukit Panjang (278 units) and Choa Chu Kang (191 units).

    • Sale Allocation - 1,113 units of 4-room (350 units), 5-room (748 units) and Executive (15 units) flats.

    • Sale Allocation - 2,184 units of 4-room (95 units), 5-room (1,179 units) and Executive (910 units) flats for sale.
    • The flats are located in Jurong East (109 units) and Jurong West (2,075 units).

• • Feb 2005 - Balloting Exercise for Established Towns
    • Sale Allocation - 1,375 units of 3-room (82 units), 4-room (690 units), 5-room (603 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in various established towns such as Bukit Merah, Geylang, Queenstown, Kallang/Whampoa, AMK etc.
    • They were built to rehouse families under the SERS and the surplus flats are now available for sale to public applicants.

    • These flats are located in Sembawang (362 units), Woodlands (150 units) and Yishun (19 units).

• • Oct 2004 - Balloting Exercise in Established Towns
    • Sale Allocation - 1,529 units of Studio Apartments-SAs (100 units), 4-room (638 units) and 5-room (791 units) flats.
    • The flats are located in various established towns such as Bukit Merah, Geylang, Queenstown, Kallang/Whampoa, AMK etc.
    • They were built to rehouse families under the SERS, and the surplus flats are now available for sale to public applicants.

• • Jul 2004 - WIS Exercise in Hougang, Punggol, Sengkang
    • Sale Allocation - 3,171 units of 4-room (495 units), 5-room (1,221 units) and Executive (1,455 units) flats.

• • Apr 2004 - WIS Exercise in Sembawang, Woodlands, Yishun
    • Sale Allocation - 783 units of 4-room (44 units), 5-room (208 units) and Executive (531 units) flats.

    • Sale Allocation - 1,895 units of 4-room (305 units), 5-room (641 units) and Executive (949 units) flats for sale.

    • Sale Allocation - 571 units of 4-room flats for sale.
    • The flats are located in various estates such as Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok, Sembawang, Yishun, Woodlands, Hougang, Sengkang, Punggol & Jurong.

• • Jan 2003 - WIS Exercise in Jurong West
    • Sale Allocation - 3,237 units of 5-room (2,532 units) and Executive (705 units) flats.
    • Of these 3,237 flats, 2,134 are flats offered under the WIS for the first time.
    • The remaining 1,103 are balance flats that were not booked during the first WIS exercise.
