Waleed Aly

Waleed Aly is an Australian lawyer and Muslim community leader. As a member of the executive committee of the Islamic Council of Victoria and the council's head of public affairs, he is a frequent commentator of Australian Muslim affairs.

He attended Wesley College, Melbourne before he studied engineering and law at the University of Melbourne. He works as a solicitor in Melbourne for Maddocks Lawyers. As a spokesman for the Islamic Council of Victoria, he is regularly interviewed on current affairs and news programs, and writes commentary for both The Australian and Fairfax newspapers.
