Is there a source for ICP Participants being able to be Character Performers?

    • Ok, cool. I'm very intrigued by that knowledge. Going a little OT, but do you happen to know anyone hired into do that?
      • Afraid not. But then, the people I've talked to all applied for Merchandise or Food and Beverage. Havent talked to anyone who applied for character performer (though I did definately see people at my interview being measured for it (you have to be a certain height apparently). As far as I understand it, if it's your highest available (eg. they have no more positions in attractions-and your next choice is character) choice then they bring you out to Florida, you have your audition (which involves dance and improv, I think) and if you get it, you become a character. Otherwise, you get your next available choice. I could be completely wrong there-I'm really not sure.
    • I have double-confirmation for that, having randomly met a person hired into that role...(jealousy sets in...)

Also, is Guest Relations really open to Cultural Reps? Aren't they host pavilion only?

    • Thanks again. Would be intrigued to know the answer. My understanding is that Cultural Reps have to authentically represent culture in costume to fulfil visa, so since no Epcot pavilion has Guest Relations within it, how can they do that? If they're at a theme park's Guest Relations, they wouldn't be in national costume.

"Guest Relations - Meet and greet! You could be actively greeting guests and answering specific questions about your country or giving lengthy, memorized tours of the theme park where you work. You also could help with Guest problem-solving and service recovery, assisting with audience control, and cash handling using a computerized system." On the ICP, the equivalent position is a part of Operations, so that could be what they mean, but I'm really not sure...


I want to confirm that international program participants can work in Guest Relations, I worked in GR in 03' and 04' and 05' and there have always been IP guest relations hosts. I actually dated a few of the German girls while on my AI. - Shifter55 18:32, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Would you happen to know if they were International College Program (summer program) or Cultural Representative Program (year long program)? KC. 01:09, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
They were on the "Cultural Representative Program", Disney would not let the ICP interns do it because training takes almost a month long to complete ... from DU to the proporty tour to OTJ training. - Shifter55 10:40, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Were the GR positions open to people of all nationalities that do CRP, or just specific ones? I can't find any information on, for example, UK people being able to do it.
There are no reps from the UK because one of the main focuses of the position is to provide international guests with GR support in their own language. Although it might seem helpful (insert joke about British and Canadian English vs. American) there are mostly reps from non English countrys. I have personally worked with reps from Japan, Germany, France, Italy, China, and Brazil. Shifter55 21:39, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
