[edit] Fun Facts
Wakefield High School is known for its "Crash Corner." "Crash Corner" is a four way intersection located on the second floor. From the south, students are coming from history, lunch, or the office area --- from the north, students are coming from the first floor --- from the west, students are coming from the science/foreign language area -- and finally from the east, students are coming from the math hallway. Because each students from each area of the school are coming from every direction, "Crash Corner" is usually heavily populated after the bell rings indicating you can move on to your next class. Due to the heavy traffic, you are on your own in terms of letting somebody by, or just making a dash to go your own route. You are almost always guaranteed to make contact with someone. "Crash Corner" is generally over-rated --- the time it takes for you to cross the corner is usually less than two minutes and because everyone for the most part is going to be in "crash corner", the time it takes you to travel to other parts of the building are less. The worst possible scenario --- which could make you borderline late is --- going from History to English (Vice Versa). The wait times at "Crash Corner" in combination with the wait time at the main history stairwell, as well as a possible trip to your locker is not good.
Wakefield High School has adopted a strict "peanut-free" policy as well as a prohibition of food inside the classroom.
All soda machines were removed from the building shortly after the 2005-2006 school year began.
Wakefield High School used to have one 9 Minute break following first period --- but this was discontinued starting in 2005-2006 and likewise changed to two 6 Minute breaks. Many WHS students (Class of 2008/07/06) prefer(ed) the 9 Minute break.
