Waiting for the Punchline was the fourth and final album by Extreme. Because of its lack of success, the band subsequently disbanded. It was labelled as a "grunge" album, but the only change was in Nuno Bettencourt's guitar tone, and otherwise lacked significant deviation from Extreme's style on prior recordings.
