The Waikiki Beach Boys are a future Hawaii Winter Baseball team to be based in Honolulu, Hawaii. They will play in the 2007 season in Hawaii Winter Baseball, which is loosely affilitated with Major League Baseball.
The Beach Boys name comes from the "Beach Boys of Waikiki", of which comprised of a teenager named Duke Kahanamoku and his friends. The group created their own surfing club called Hui Nalu, or "The Club of the Waves." The club was created as the Christian missionaries' influence over the island had began to decline, allowing the reintroduction of surfing in Hawaii. The "Beach Boys of Waikiki" and are credited with the rebirth of surfing in Hawaii.
