WAFX, also known as 106.9 The Fox, is a classic rock radio station serving the Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Portsmouth-Hampton-Newport News radio market. It is owned by Saga Communications. Its transmitter is located in Windsor, Virginia.

This frequency started broadcasting in 1983 from their transmitter site in Windsor. The WTID call sign used to be here when the station had an automated country music format. This station also sported the WSKX calls, and a live country music format with the 'K(I)X-106' moniker, but was unable to topple then heritage Country market leader WCMS-FM, and in 1989 flipped to Classic Rock as 'The Fox', with the call sign changed to WAFX.

The Fox was an instant success, debuting at #1 in the Arbitron ratings, a virtually unprecedented achievement for a Classic Rock station in a large market. However, by 1993 the station's ratings had slipped badly, and WAFX was acquired by Saga, which owned rival rock station WNOR. The new owners shifted the Fox's playlist from classic rock to classic hits and abandoned the "Fox" moniker in favor of Classic Hits 106.9 but later reverted to The Fox.

The Fox's most notable personality is Mike Arlo, who joined the station after spending over 20 years on the air at WNOR. He is best known for his vast rock knowledge, and the "Electric Lunch" at noon each weekday.
