[edit] History

In 1978, the station flipped to Album Rock in response to WTOC-FM (then on 94.1) flipping from rock to pop music. 97.3 went by the name 97 Rock with the call signs WLXM. In the early 1980's, the station flipped to light pop music known as Wave 97. When WLXM left the air, Savannah did not have a rock station until WIXV-FM picked up the format in 1986. The station evolved into being called Mix 97.3 during the late 1980s and early/mid 1990s. After several years of falling numbers and revenue in the late '90s, the station rebranded to Clear Channel's Kiss format in December 2001. After several months of further format "tweaking", the station moved into a more mainstream mix of music than most other "KISS" stations.

The station began streaming online on June 30, 2006.
