The Wachovia Bank of Georgia building is located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, and was built in 1966. It was constructed when the bank was known as First National Bank of Atlanta. It was the tallest building in the Southeast at the time. It was Atlanta's tallest until 1976, when the Westin Peachtree Plaza surpassed it.

In December 1985, the holding company that owned First National Bank of Atlanta (later called First Atlanta) merged with Wachovia Corporation, the holding company for Wachovia Bank, N.A. In the early 1990s, changes in federal law resulted in the rechartering of the institution as part of Wachovia Bank.

More than 1 million households and 100,000 businesses in Georgia are customers of the Bank.
