TexasGonzo57 added many references to the cinematic life of Waco, many of which I believe stretching it. Action USA, Damon Crump and John Stewart are hardly well known to anyone outside of Waco, Texas, itself and I feel that the space should be reserved for actual cinematic accomplishments. Also, coming from the same circle as Damon Crump, John Stewart and many people who worked on Action USA, it seems as though it is a member of that group attempting to build up their own reputation. I move that those references be taken down as they are ridiculously obscure, even to people living in Waco, Texas, itself. Therefore, I am going to remove those references as obscure. I feel it better to keep this section devoted to real Wacoans doing real, known work rather than obscure work that only a vast minority of people will ever see.

[edit] Davidians

It is predjudicial to conveiniently label the Branch Davidians a cult. (by 67.30.43.47)

Describing death toll in "men ... women ... children" and concluding with "died that day" appeals to emotion does not have a neutral point of view. (by 66.66.46.93)

The exact death toll is apparently disputed, several wiki pages and linked articles all have varying numbers. (by 66.66.46.93)

The Davidian-specific links don't belong in the Waco article. If anywhere, they belong in the Waco Siege article. This article is about the City of Waco, Texas. Rklawton 20:35, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Considering that WP's own article is called "Waco Siege", and that news coverage of the time referred almost exclusively to Waco, it needs to be covered here, even if only perfunctorily. I'm a resident of Waco who gets as irked as anyone when people say the cult was "in Waco", but given the reality of Waco's notoriety in assocation with the incident, it should be addressed. I support perfunctorily. Most news readers signed of with "Waco, Texas". Information about the siege's impact on Waco and alink to the the siege article is fully appropriate. Rklawton 20:15, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Urban Renewal

At one time downtown Waco had a large Latino community. However, their neighborhoods were demolished in various Urban Renewal efforts and replaced with parks. This would make an interesting addition to the history of Waco section. Rklawton 20:39, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Great Waco Train Wreck

I would like to see that important part of the city`s history added please. I do not have the ressources to verify information.
