[edit] NPOV
I appreciate that someone took the time to write this article, but it shouldn't look like it was written by a loyal employee. I have fixed several NPOV issues, eliminating phrases like "premier Gulf Coast radio station" and boasts about signal strength. Most Mobile stations can be heard in New Orleans on a good day, so it isn't relevant. An info box and logo would help this article. The WBLX article is a better and more neutral example of a Mobile radio article. Goeverywhere 02:09, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bernie Dittman Needs an Article
The man was a true original -- a great broadcaster and a fierce competitor. He loved his stations and the people who worked for him. Some people said he was difficult to work for (I believe it; he took his stations personally, and that's a lot to live up to). Those same people also thought very highly of him. Bernie's name was always said with a certain reverence -- even among his competitors, even when people questioned him. Even if we didn't know him personally, we felt like we knew him and simply called him Bernie -- yes, his name means that much in the Mobile media community. Despite the name-dropping, everyone knew who we meant. He kept old radio stunts alive well past their prime, yet they worked on his station. I met Bernie only once, and he showed himself to be a person of great class and a true radio professional. Somebody needs to do an article... he has earned one.
