Wörlitzer Park

The Wörlitzer Park was the first English landscape garden to be created in Germany in 1763. It is situated on the river Elbe ca 100 km / 60 m to the southwest of Berlin in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It forms the largest and most elaborte part of the Gartenreich, a number of 18th century landscape gardens interlinked by walks and vistas covering most of the former principality of Anhalt-Dessau. It was listed as a World Heritage Site in 2000.
