Vysaga
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vysaga (ヴァイサーガ) is a fictional giant robot featured in the Japanese video game series Super Robot Wars. It has appeared as a playable ally in Super Robot Wars Advance (its first appearance) and as a secret unit in Super Robot Wars Original Generation 2. Its design is based on the Vairose from Super Robot Wars 64.
The Vysaga's model number is VR-02, which is taken to stand for VaiRose-02. Most things about it are (as of now) still unknown, but its controls are registered so that only Lamia Loveless or Axel Almer can pilot it.

[edit] Description
The Vysaga's easily noticed feature is its billowing red cape. Its color scheme is predominantly blue. The design is based on a ninja, with its decoration reminiscent of the Soulgain's.
The Vysaga is equipped with a variety of weapons: kunai shurikens, wrist-mounted claws, and a sheathed sword (its main weapon). Since it is a Super Robot, its attacks are very eye-catching and damaging.
[edit] Specifications
Unit Name: Vysaga
Model Number: VR-02
Pilot: Lamia Loveless or Axel Almer
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Attacks:
- Rekkajin
The Vysaga launches several kunai at the target. After a few seconds, the kunai stuck in the target explode.
- Suiryu Souga
The Vysaga reveals a pair of wrist-mounted claws and proceeds to slash the enemy. This is a combo attack in OG2, which allows the Vysaga to hit enemies if they are lined up in a row or column.
- Jizan Shikkuutou
The Vysaga unsheathes its sword and performs a quick swipe, creating a wind front that cuts the enemy.
- Fuujinsen
The Vysaga rushes forward, faster than the eye can follow, and does a quick unsheathe and slash at point blank range, right in front of the enemy. In Advance, this is the Vysaga's strongest attack until the pilot reaches level 20.
- Ougi: Koujinsen
The Vysaga performs the same motions as the Fuujinsen, with the only difference being where the Vysaga ends up. In the Ougi: Koujinsen, the Vysaga ends up behind the opponent. This is the Vysaga's most powerful attack.
[edit] Other
Vysaga's red cape is actually a shield. In Advance, whenever the Vysaga would be hit, it will pull its cape in front of itself, which will take damage instead of the Vysaga's HP. In OG2, this feature is not seen, because the shield meter system (where shields have their own HP and will always take damage before the holder's HP is damaged) is not present in the game.
Being based on a ninja, the Vysaga has the bunshin special ability - at 130 Will or kiryoku, the Vysaga has a 50% chance to dodge an attack regardless of the accuracy of the attack. The chance to execute this maneuver is checked before "rolling" for the hit or miss.
[edit] Trivia
In OG2, a Vysaga was fused with machine cell by Egret Fref in his fail attempt to create a super robot even more powerful than Thrudgelmir.
