Vulcan FlipStart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vulcan FlipStart is a vaporware subnotebook PC that would weigh about a pound and rest comfortably in two hands.
In the now-unlikely event it should ever come to fruition, the standard design for the FlipStart would call for a folding 5.8-inch screen with 1024×600 resolution, a 30GB hard drive, built-in Wi-Fi and batteries capable of running three to four hours on a single charge. The devices will run the Windows XP operating system and standard PC applications such as Microsoft Office. All of this will be crammed into a case about the size of a paperback novel, a little more than an inch thick and weighing about a pound.
The release date of the first model is not yet announced, and in an interesting note, the website has not been updated since May of 2004.
