[edit] Final Fantasy VIII response
I've added perhaps no more than 10-12 edits in a period of 3-4 weeks. How does this equate with the notion of continuous addition? Please do not try to use chop-logic in masking the fact that you and you repertoire have engaged in systematic de-neutralization of numerous topics on this site to match your personal beliefs and opinions. I finally thought it proper to register and see about bringing this problem to the surface. ~ Vost 13:02, 3 February 2006 (PST)
- Look, I haven't reverted your edits specifically. But in case you haven't noticed, there's already a neutrality problem with the section that you're editing. All I ask is that you reference what you say, especially when trying to tip-toe around the WP:NPOV policies. If you say you've got a lot to back up what you add, then just add a reference or two. It's not hard. And if you still think I'm a representative of some fictional wiki-Nazi organization, then we can take it up with the administators. ~ Hibana 21:17, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have no problem taking it up with the administrators. You are the one who used the root word "Nazi" and qualified yourself with the adjective "Wiki." The only person here who is tiptoeing around anything is you, by purposely choosing to obscure my edits with misleading chop logic and statements regarding the neutrality of the Final Fantasy VIII article. The fan base is gigantic, as witnessed by forums such as eyesonFF.com, where Final Fantasy VIII and VII each have the greatest share of threads and topics devoted to a section about a single game. Since this game is one of the more controversial games in the series, users such as yourself may or may not have taken the liberty to obscure its popularity by carefully masking their changes with miniscule edits. Such an edit is the one in question. The original statement was that the fan base was gigantic, not “large and widespread.” Please stop interfering with legitimate improvements to the accuracy of the article.

[edit] Final Fantasy VIII
You continuously add as an anonymous user and now as a registered user that Final Fantasy VIII is the "Titanic of video games." Please add a reference to one of the many RPGs site you claim say this or else they will continuously revert it. ~ Hibana 20:47, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- By the way Hibana, the addition of the original comment comparing Titanic to Final Fantasy VIII was not done by me. I'm pretty sure, however, that I was the one to add gigantic instead of "large and widespread." Vost 13:39, 3 February 2006 (PST)
Furthermore, I would like to point out that not citing a source is considered "de-neutralization", or POV. I do understand your wish to have that information in, and it would be very nice to have it it was cited. Deckiller 21:11, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response
I agree that the comment regarding about Final Fantasy VIII being equated with the "Titanic of video games" is unfounded and requires sources. As far as the fan base being gigantic, you are exercising pure and simple hypocrisy by constantly preventing me in making this change. As you can will see in the history of the article, the ORIGINAL phrase was "gigantic" and was then changed to "large and widespread." The individual who changed it was not harassed for "sources" and was allowed to make the change freely. I am merely reversing this miniscule change back to its original and more accurate form. Please stop practicing hypocrisy and discrimination against me. Thank you. ~ Vost 13:17, 3 February 2006 (PST)
- You see, it wasn't that we were being discriminating or anything, it's just that gigantic is agreed to be a rather colorful adjective at times, because it usually requires a statistic (gigantic stands out from "large" fanbases, though either way, we need to cite a statistic for the size issue anyway. We just felt that large would be a less stand-out term and a good filler until we found some sources to back up the fanbase claims). Deckiller 21:22, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Response
- You can read my response to Hibana regarding this. I already have cited a specific site, and I know of many more that show evidence of Final Fantasy VIII and VII having "gigantic" fan bases. You can check out eyesonFF.com yourself, which is one of the most popular sites on the internet for discussion on past and future Final Fantasies. ~ Vost 13:31, 3 February 2006 (PST)
Further Response
- I added a section on the discussion page for Final Fantasy VIII, with an update regarding this matter. Thank you.
[edit] What edit?
I just received an edit from you regarding Final Fantasy VIII. I have never edited info on this game nor have I cared about wikipedia enough to edit. This IP is from an office, so perhaps someone else did it. I do not wish to sign on wikipedia and be scolded for something I did not do. Ease up.
[edit] Hey
I noticed you think FF8 is the best game in the series. I'm the same way; I think it posessed something that the other didn't have. I'll try to be silent about the current debate on the FF8 page :) Deckiller 19:49, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, thanks, it is my favorite game in the Final Fantasy series as well. Truthfully, I am not trying to skew the article in favor of the game, as some people might believe. I am just trying to portray it more accurately. Hopefully, my defenses on the discussion page will show other people what I mean, but I'm not going to keep arguing on the same topic if I see that there is more disagreement than agreement. Nevertheless, I appreciate your comment, thank you. Vost 1201, 14 February 2006 (PST)
