Von Plötzke

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The von Plötzke family is an old-line noble Polish and Teutonic family. Originally from Plock in Masovia, Poland, the family were the hereditary Dukes of Masovia.

In the mid 13th century, after considerable disagreement with the reigning Piast dynasty in Poland, members of the family joined the Teutonic Knights. Most notable was Heinrich von Plötzke, born Henryk Duke of Masovia, who became a major officer of the Knights.
