Volvo China Open
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Volvo China Open is a men's golf tournament which is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the Asian Tour. The European Tour sanctions several events in Asia, and is making a particular effort to exploit the Chinese market. The event was first played in 1995 and has been part of the European Tour's schedule since 2003. The 2005 prize fund was $1.3 million United States dollars, and in 2006 it was $1.8 million. [1] The 2005 tournament was played in November, but in 2006 was brought forward to April. Both of these stagings were part of the 2006 European Tour season. In 2007 the prize fund will be US$2 million. [2]
