Volkan Demirel (born October 27, 1981) is a footballer currently playing as goalkeeper for Fenerbahçe SK. He was born in Istanbul, Turkey, is 1.91 meters tall and weighs 84 kilograms.
He started his career as a youth player at the Turkish club Kartalspor. Since then, he has improved to the point that he is the number one choice for the Fenerbahce and Turkey national football team goalkeeper position, over Rüştü Reçber. His hobbies include swimming, driving, and travelling.
